book an appointment 1. Appointments & Bookings
All appointments can be booked online via our booking system or by contacting the salon directly.
We require a valid contact number and email address at the time of booking.
Bookings are confirmed once you receive a confirmation notification via email or SMS.
We reserve the right to refuse a booking at our discretion.
2. Cancellations & No-Shows
We kindly ask that you give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the service cost.
Failure to attend an appointment without notice (no-show) may result in a charge of up to 100% of the service cost and/or a deposit being required for future bookings.
Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in us being unable to accept future bookings.
3. Late Arrivals
Please aim to arrive on time for your appointment.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to shorten or reschedule your treatment to avoid disruption to other clients.
Full service charges may still apply for late arrivals.
4. Deposits
For certain services or clients with a history of late cancellations, we may require a deposit at the time of booking.
Deposits are non-refundable in the event of a no-show or late cancellation (under 24 hours' notice).
Deposits will be deducted from the total cost of your service on the day.
5. Pricing
All prices are as displayed on our Services page or as quoted at the time of booking.
Prices are subject to change without notice. Any changes will be updated on our website and in the salon.
Final service costs may vary depending on hair length, thickness, or additional products/time required. Your stylist will advise you before proceeding if additional charges apply.
6. Payments
We accept cash and major debit/credit cards.
Payment is due in full at the time of your appointment.
Gratuities are entirely at your discretion and always appreciated by our team.
7. Complaints & Refunds
We want every client to leave happy. If you are dissatisfied with your service, please let us know before leaving the salon so we can address it straight away.
Complaints raised within 7 days of your appointment will be reviewed and we will do our best to find a reasonable resolution, which may include a complimentary adjustment appointment.
We do not offer cash refunds on services already carried out, but we are committed to making things right wherever possible.
Refunds or adjustments will not be offered where a significant change has been made to your hair after leaving the salon, or where the result differs from your expectations due to undisclosed hair history.
8. Children & Guests
Children are welcome in the salon when accompanied by a responsible adult.
For the comfort and safety of all clients and staff, we ask that children are supervised at all times.
Due to limited space, we ask that you do not bring additional guests unless necessary.
9. Personal Belongings
Change Hair Salon accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage of personal belongings brought into the salon.
Please take care of your items during your visit.
10. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are available to purchase in the salon.
Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Lost or stolen vouchers cannot be replaced.
11. Liability
Change Hair Salon will not be held liable for any allergic reactions or adverse effects resulting from treatments where a patch test was offered but declined by the client.
We follow all manufacturer guidelines and UK industry standards in the application of all products.
12. Privacy
Your personal data (name, contact details, hair history) is stored securely and used only for appointment management and communication purposes.
We do not share your data with third parties. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.
Patch Testing
A patch/skin allergy test is required at least 48 hours before any colouring treatment, including tints, highlights, balayage, bleach, and toners, if you are a new client or have not had a colour service with us in the last 6 months.
A patch test is also required if you have:
Changed your medication since your last colour appointment
Had a previous allergic reaction to any hair colouring product
Had a recent illness or change in health
Recently had a henna or semi-permanent treatment
Patch tests are quick, free, and carried out in the salon. Please contact us to arrange yours before your appointment.
We reserve the right to refuse a colouring service if a patch test has not been completed. This is for your safety and is in line with UK industry guidelines.
Colour Consultations
A consultation is included before every colour service.
We will discuss your hair history, desired result, and any potential limitations based on your current hair condition.
Please be honest about any previous colouring, relaxing, perming, or chemical treatments — even if done at home. This helps us achieve the best and safest result for your hair.
We cannot guarantee colour results where full hair history has not been disclosed.
Hair Condition & Integrity
Some services, particularly lightening and chemical treatments, may not be possible on hair that is heavily damaged, over-processed, or in poor condition.
Your stylist will carry out an assessment before beginning any chemical service and will advise you honestly if a treatment is not safe to proceed with.
We reserve the right to decline or modify a service if we believe it could cause damage to your hair or scalp.
Health & Medical Conditions
Please inform us at the time of booking or on arrival if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have a scalp condition (e.g. psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis)
Have any known allergies, particularly to hair products or PPD (a common colouring ingredient)
Are undergoing chemotherapy or medical treatment that may affect your hair or scalp
This information helps us adapt your treatment safely and recommend the most suitable products.
Scalp & Skin Sensitivity
If you experience any itching, burning, or discomfort during a treatment, please let your stylist know immediately so we can take appropriate action.
Do not attend your appointment if you have open cuts, abrasions, or active skin conditions on your scalp — we may need to postpone your service for your own safety.
Hygiene & Cleanliness
All tools, equipment, and work surfaces are cleaned and sanitised between every client.
We use professional-grade, cruelty-free products wherever possible and follow all manufacturer safety guidelines.
Our salon is regularly cleaned to a high standard to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients and staff.
Photography & Social Media
We love sharing our work! With your permission, we may photograph your hair before, during, or after your appointment for use on our social media and website.
You are never obliged to be photographed, and you may withdraw consent at any time.
Please let your stylist know at the start of your appointment if you would prefer not to be photographed.
These terms and policies are reviewed regularly and are subject to change. The most up-to-date version will always be available on our website. By booking an appointment with Change Hair Salon you agree to the above terms and conditions.
